Israeli energy companies accelerate expansion across Europe
Israeli energy companies are increasing their activity in Europe as limited domestic project availability and delays in grid connection approvals push developers to seek growth overseas. European government incentives, rising electricity demand, and the need for greater energy independence are helping support the expansion.
Recent projects include a EUR 60 million energy generation and storage facility in Bulgaria developed by Colmobil Energy and Timnat Energy. The Lambrinovo project includes a 150 MW battery storage system with 317 MWh of capacity and is expected to generate EUR 12.8 million in first-year revenue.
Other Israeli companies are advancing projects across Italy, Poland, the UK, and additional European markets. Solair is pursuing storage and solar assets, while Econergy has connected a 40 MW storage project in the UK and is developing additional projects there and in Italy.
The trend is also shifting from greenfield development toward acquisitions of operating, revenue-generating assets, allowing companies to secure immediate cash flow while expanding their European portfolios.
