Watergen-Al Dahra water-tech deal paves the way for more Israel-UAE collaboration
Water-from-air startup Watergen has signed a strategic partnership with Emirati firm Al Dahra to export the Israeli solutions to the UAE and other regional countries.
The partnership will target a variety of sectors, including agriculture, offices and apartment buildings, hotels and industrial plants.
Watergen has developed a patented technology that enables the generation of clean drinking water in a cost-effective energy consumption manner. It uses a series of filters to purify the air. After the air is sucked in and chilled to extract its humidity, the water that forms is treated and transformed into clean drinking water.
The deal follows last week’s first VC investment by an Israel company in the UAE when Maniv Mobility invested in UAE electric scooter start-up, Fenix.
The developments come at an exciting time as Gitex2020 conference revs into action in Dubai shortly, on December 6-10, while the Jerusalem Post and Khaleej Times are to team up for the first-ever in-person joint conference in Dubai in February 2021.
