Synaptics acquires Israeli chipmaker DSP Group for USD 540 million

US software company Synaptics Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNA) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Israeli provider of voice and wireless chipset solutions for converged communications DSP Group Inc.

The U.S. software company will pay an 18% premium on the share price of DSP Group, which has traded on NASDAQ since 1994, provides chips across multiple markets in the Internet of Audio Things (IoAT).

Meitar and Goodwin Procter are serving as legal counsel to Synaptics on its first acquisition in Israel, with Morrison & Foerster serving as legal counsel to DSP Group.
