Israel grants NIS 9 million to agriculture tech startups; report also highlights more funds destined for digital health

The Agriculture Ministry and the Israel Innovation Authority launched a joint program to develop Israeli technology in the field of agriculture.

The grants are part of a joint program by the ministry and the innovation authority to assist in the development of tech products for Israeli agriculture and solutions to ensure food security. Read more here in Jerusalem Post.

A new survey by the Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI) has predicted that investors also expect to pour more funds into digital health startups and companies in 2022, following a strong investment year in the sector in 2021, driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing demand for digitized solutions. The IATI is an umbrella organization of high-tech and life sciences firms operating in Israel. Read more here in Times of Israel.

Meanwhile, sectors like fintech, vertical AI, deep tech, digital health, next-generation enterprise infrastructure, SaaS 3.0, Web 3.0, and cybersecurity will be the target, once again, of Israeli venture capital firm, Viola Ventures, which has just announced the closing of a USD 250 million early-stage investments fund. This will be the company’s sixth fund.
