U.S. semiconductor giant Intel has announced it is buying Israeli computing tech startup Granulate Cloud Solutions Ltd. for a reported USD 650 million, marking the chip multinational’s seventh acquisition of an Israeli company in just over five years.

Granulate develops software to optimize the use of computing resources, and will join Intel’s advanced software and technology division, which was established last year.

Intel bought Jerusalem-based autonomous driving systems maker Mobileye in 2017 for a staggering USD 15.3 billion, which remains the largest tech exit for an Israeli company to date.

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP advised Intel, together with Yigal Arnon, in the acquisition of the Israeli start-up Granulate, with the team including: Barak Platt, Josh Hauser, Ben Sandler, Dr. Eran Lempert, Eli Greenbaum, Shani Rapoport, Neta Goshen Brami, Nir Kamhi, Leah Grumet, Basel Sader and Adina Mirchin.
