A consortium led by Todd Boehly, chairman and CEO of Eldridge, and Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. has bought Chelsea Football Club for €4.25 Billion. Boehly is the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Sparks.

The club was put up for sale in March before previous owner Roman Abramovich, who had moved to Israel, was sanctioned over his links to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Latham & Watkins advised the consortium, and was led by London corporate and Israel Desk partner Ed Barnett, together with partner Sam Newhouse and a wider team.
