Court rejects claim of “Princess Hotel” in Eilat filed against Bank Hapoalim in landmark litigation

Bank Hapoalim has succeeded in one of the most important recent cases in Israel relating to banks’ liabilities. The NIS 200 million lawsuit, ongoing since 2016, was filed by Lexan, owner of Princess Hotel in Eilat, and controlling shareholder, Alexander Tessler.
The Tel Aviv District Court dismissed all counts of the claim and charged the plaintiffs with significant expenses, determining that the bank had acted professionally, responsibly, and with discretion.
