Tower plans to team with Adani on USD10b Indian chip plant?

Tower Semiconductor has partnered with India’s Adani Group to establish a USD 10 billion semiconductor manufacturing plant in Gujarat, India.
The project aims to strengthen India’s presence in the global semiconductor industry, addressing supply chain needs and promoting tech innovation. Tower, a leading Israeli chipmaker, will provide expertise in the manufacturing process, while Adani will oversee the infrastructure and project management.
This collaboration is part of India’s broader efforts to boost its tech sector and reduce dependency on semiconductor imports.
The news was announced in a tweet by Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister of the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
