Despite objections 42-floor “Burj Jerusalem” tower approved

Despite over 200 objections, the Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee has approved a 42-floor tower near Mount Herzl, according to sources cited by Globes.
The tower will be located in the Epstein complex, overlooking the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and the Mount Herzl military cemetery, sparking criticism from those who feel the project disrespects the memory of fallen soldiers and Holocaust victims.
However, Shira Talmi Babay, head of the Planning Committee, defended the decision, stating that the project aligns with the city’s policy of promoting denser construction along the light rail route. The committee has given final approval for the high-rise to proceed.
