Privatization of Israel Post completed: Milgam takes ownership

The privatization of Israel Post has officially concluded. Ownership of the company has been transferred from the state to a consortium that includes Milgam, Phoenix, and Layman Schlissel for a sum of NIS 468 million, marking the acquisition of 100% of the company.

Despite the change in ownership, Israel Post will remain under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications, ensuring compliance with distribution obligations across the country.

After months of dialogue with state entities, such as Companies Authority, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Finance, Bank of Israel, among others, a deal was reached.

Herzog represented the buyers, led by Asaf Nahum and Itay Lavi, while Meitar advised Companies Authority, with lawyers Dr. Shaul Hayon, Yael Weiss, and Avi Licht leading the process.

Raz Nizri and Nadim Aboud from Firon advised on Milgam on some regulatory aspects.

Ilan Zoher from S. Horowitz represented the Phoenix group in certain aspects of the transaction and Efrat Karazi from S.Biran represented Layman Schlissel group in certain aspects of the transaction.
