Bank Hapoalim completes record-breaking USD2B global bond sale

Israel’s Bank Hapoalim executed pricing and placement for a USD 2 billion international private bond offering, marking the largest overseas bond issuance by an Israeli bank.

Investor demand reached roughly USD 7 billion, and the bonds, split into 3.5- and seven-year maturities with annual coupons near 4.722 % and 5.252 %, are expected to list on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange’s TASE UP system. The offering drew broad global participation, underscoring strong investor confidence in Israeli issuers across the U.S., Europe ,and the UK.

This transaction saw Meitar advise Bank Hapoalim, with lawyers Ran Camchy, Shachar Hadar, Shelbi Wasser, Yael Weiss, Avi Berk, Ido Halfon Manfred, Pavel Fishman, May Mossauoff, and Dana Karasik.

Chapman and Cutler served as U.S. counsel to Mishmeret Trust Company Ltd., acting as indenture trustee, with partner John Hitt leading the transaction team.
