Israeli tech services exports reach record levels as foreign investment surges

Categories: Hi-Tech

Israel’s services exports reached a record USD 27 billion in the second quarter of 2026, with high-tech services accounting for USD 17.7 billion, or approximately 73% of business service exports. The services account posted a USD 10.2 billion surplus, its highest level in the Central Bureau of Statistics series since 2022.

The figures underscore the continued strength of Israel’s technology sector as a driver of exports and international capital flows. The country’s goods and services balance recorded a USD 7 billion surplus in the second quarter, one of the highest on record.

Foreign direct investment also accelerated sharply. Foreign residents invested USD 15.8 billion in Israel in the first quarter and another USD 14.3 billion in the second, bringing first-half 2026 direct investment to USD 30.1 billion — already above the USD 25.8 billion recorded during all of 2025.

The data reflects the growing profitability and scale of foreign-owned technology companies operating in Israel, particularly in AI-related businesses, with a significant portion of earnings being reinvested into local operations.
