American Express acquires B2B Payments automation aompany Nipendo
Israeli company Nipendo is being acquired by American Express.
Founded in 2008, Netanya-headquartered Nipendo is used by global businesses to automate and streamline business-to-business (B2B) payments processes. Nipendo has raised just USD 12 million to date according to Crunchbase, with its last funding round being a Series B almost 10 years ago. The company employs around 100 people.
The price American Express is paying for the Israeli company was not disclosed but the U.S. giant intends to integrate Nipendo’s team, technology, and capabilities to expand its differentiated offerings for businesses.
Herzog advised on the transaction – part of American Express’ latest strategic step toward its goal of creating a leading end-to-end B2B platform. The team included Yair Geva, Asaf Nahum, Shachar Porat, Maayan Hammer-Tzeelon, Amir Cooper, Ofer Granot, Dafna Amster Kahn and Tslil Bar Bainvol, as well as associates Ben Pask, Dor Marinovsky, Fanny Elgrably, Olga Pery, Anna Landau, Shadan Jabareen, Roni Zis, Yara Ayoub, Daniela Nitzan (Finkelstein), Daniel Rosenblatt, Noam Tzur, Guy Cohen, Yali Gutman, and Dor Furer.
