Gadot and India’s Adani win Haifa Port privatization tender
A consortium led by Israel-based Gadot Group and included India-based Adani Group, won the tender for the privatization of the Haifa Port.
In the final pricing tender stage Gadot and Adani outbid three other competing groups for the acquisition of 100% of Haifa Port’s shares, with a NIS 4.1 billion offer.
Privatization of Haifa Port is part of the overall reform of Israel’s ports and is designed to intensify competition between the ports and improve efficiency, smooth the path for imports and lower the cost of living. Haifa Port is the second Israeli port to be privatized after Eilat Port, which was sold to private owners in 2013.
Gadot and Adani were represented by Goldfarb Seligman partner Rayek Khoury and associate Sharon Eshed of the infrastructure team within our Corporate and Capital Markets Department.
