Gideon Fisher & Co. involved in key court ruling over Coronavirus regulations
A Motion to the Supreme Court, sitting as the High Court of Justice, requested the Court to instruct The Government to amend its new COVID-19 Regulations.
The hearing took place on November 9, 2020 whereby three senior Supreme Court Judges agreed with the arguments made by Adv. Gideon Fisher and for the first time ever, in Israel and worldwide, instructed the government accordingly.
The High Court of Justice has issued an order asking the Israeli government to explain why Coronavirus Regulations will not be amended so that essential businesses can sell only ‘essential products.’
The order is granted pursuant to the motion, filed by the Idan 2000 and Kfar Hashashoim toy chains, to the High Court of Justice, and the government must comply with the order within 30 days.
Adv. Gideon Fisher and Dr. Matan Gutman, representing the parties that submitted the motion, said after the order was issued, “This is a huge victory for justice in the High Court. We are confident that now, after this ruling, the Israeli government will act quickly to amend the COVID-19 Regulations, and the Judges will issue a final verdict, accordingly.”
