Israel Closes ICA Criminal Probe Into Willi-Food

Categories: Dispute Resolution

The Israel Competition Authority has closed its criminal investigation into G. Willi-Food International Ltd. and its CEO, Zvi Williger, without taking any enforcement action. The case, which drew significant media attention, unfolded amid heightened regulatory scrutiny of Israel’s food sector and the ICA’s increased focus on competitive conduct.

Closing the investigation is a notable outcome given that most ICA criminal probes that reach a formal hearing typically progress to indictment.

Pearl Cohen represented Willi-Food and its CEO through the investigation and hearing process, led by Tzahi Yagur, Head of the Antitrust and Competition Group.
