Livnat family sells 49% of server farm MedOne to U.S. private equity firm Berkshire Partners

The Livnat family has agreed to sell 49% of its holdings in veteran Israel server farm operator MedOne, to U.S. private equity firm Berkshire Partners  and to businessman Grant Van Rooyen, for a consideration reflecting a company’s valuation of approximately NIS 1.5 Billion.

The Livnat family is exploiting the momentum in server farm construction in Israel and at the same time gaining greater liquidity at the height of an economic crisis.

MedOne is one of the pioneers of the server farm industry in Israel. Its best known installation is the underground server farm at Tirat Carmel, which manages and stores sensitive information of government ministries, banks, ISPs, and insurance companies. The company has additional longstanding server farms in Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv.

Herzog Fox & Neeman advised the U.S. private equity firm, led by partner Adina Shapiro together with Michal Herzfeld and associate Nahum Mittelman, alongside partners, Dr. Ehab Farah, Dr. Yuval Navot, Eldad Chamam, Yael Bar Shai and Shachar Porat, and, associates Anna Landau, Moshe Yehuda, Einat Steiner and Dikla Hozainov and intern Maya Mazaltov.

The sellers were represented by Erdinast, Ben Nathan, Toledano & Co., With Hamburger Evron partners Yoav Dankner and Irina (Iris) Kushel and associate Alon Abramovich of the Corporate and M&A department.
