Tnuva and Pluristem to set up a unique cultured food platform
Biotech company Pluristem has reached a landmark collaboration with Israel’s largest food conglomerate Tnuva to establish a unique cultured food platform aimed at cultured meat, with the option of expanding into cultured fish and dairy.
This platform will be based on Pluristem’s technological expertise in mass-scale, cost effective, consistent cell production.
As part of the collaboration, the Tnuva Group will invest USD 7.5 million, with the option to invest additional USD 7.5 million, in a new company that will receive licensing rights to exploit Pluristem’s proprietary technology, IP, and knowhow in the field of cultured meat.
Shibolet advised Pluristem, with Einat Weidberg, Tal Karplus, Alon Ariel, Hemi Dagan representing, and support from Lior Plotkin and Keren Bastaker from the Labor and Employment team.
