Tripledot buys Supersonic from Unity for USD40m

Categories: Corporate and M&A, Hi-Tech

Tripledot Studios has acquired Supersonic, the Tel Aviv-based mobile game publishing business, from Unity for USD 40 million in cash, subject to certain post-closing adjustments.

Supersonic partners with independent studios to bring hybrid-casual mobile games to global audiences. Since its founding six years ago, the company has published more than 150 games, with its titles downloaded more than 6 billion times.

Following the acquisition, Supersonic will continue to operate as a standalone business within Tripledot Group under its existing brand and management team, and will remain based in Tel Aviv.

The acquisition expands Tripledot’s hybrid-casual publishing platform and adds Supersonic’s product team, engineering and R&D resources, SDKs, and user acquisition automation technology. For Unity, the sale reflects its broader effort to focus on its core game engine and Vector AI advertising platform.

Meitar advised Unity in the transaction. Katzenell Dimant acted for Tripledot Studios.
