Gilat raises USD100m in convertible notes to expand satellite and defense business

Categories: Hi-Tech, Investment Funds

Gilat Satellite Networks has raised USD 100 million through an offering of convertible senior notes, providing additional capital to support growth across its satellite communications and defense businesses.

The financing strengthens Gilat’s balance sheet as the company expands its presence in high-growth markets, including defense, mobility, satellite connectivity, and next-generation communications infrastructure. The proceeds are expected to support general corporate purposes and strategic initiatives, including potential acquisitions.

Gilat has increased its focus on defense and secure communications in recent years, alongside its traditional satellite networking business. The company provides satellite-based connectivity solutions for governments, defense customers, telecom operators, airlines, and other commercial users worldwide.

Carter Ledyard advised Gilat on all US matters in connection with the offering, with a team led by Guy Ben-Ami and Steven Glusband.
