Global giants eye Metro contracts

Israel’s National Transport Infrastructure Company (NTA) has attracted unprecedented international participation in the tender process for the Tel Aviv Metro, one of the country’s largest infrastructure initiatives.

For the first time, US companies have entered the competition, alongside nine Indian firms with extensive experience in metro construction, tunneling, rail systems, and large-scale transportation projects. The project aims to transform mobility across the Tel Aviv metropolitan area through a network of underground lines and stations.

The Tel Aviv Metro will span approximately 150 kilometers and include more than 100 stations, making it one of the most ambitious urban transit developments in the region. Indian participants bring expertise gained from delivering major metro systems across cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, while the US entrants reflect growing confidence in Israel’s infrastructure market. The bidding process forms part of NTA’s strategy to attract leading international contractors capable of executing complex engineering and transportation works.
