Israeli cyber startups target identity security for AI agents

Israeli cybersecurity entrepreneurs are increasingly focusing on identity security for the AI era, as enterprises move from experimental AI tools to autonomous agents capable of accessing data, executing workflows, and making decisions inside corporate systems.

The emerging category is built around a central concern: existing identity and access management systems were designed primarily for human employees and traditional applications, not thousands of AI agents, software bots, machine accounts, and other non-human identities operating continuously across enterprise environments.

Investor interest has accelerated in 2026. NewCore emerged from stealth in June with USD 66 million in funding and a stated ambition to compete with Microsoft and Okta by rebuilding identity security for autonomous systems. Oak raised USD 60 million in July to build an AI-native identity operating system for employees, machines, and AI agents, while Linx Security, Venice, Hush Security, Offroad, Tenet, and Capsule Security are each targeting different parts of the AI identity and governance challenge.

The clearest sign of the market’s momentum came with Cyera’s USD 1 billion acquisition of Oasis Security, one of the largest recent cybersecurity deals in Israel. The transaction underscored the growing strategic importance of securing non-human identities as AI systems become more deeply embedded in enterprise operations.

Together, these companies point to a new cybersecurity category centered on AI governance, identity, and access control, where organizations must determine not only whether an AI agent is authorized to access a system, but whether it should be allowed to perform a specific action at a specific moment.
