Israel has emerged as one of the world’s leading gaming development markets, with the sector generating an estimated USD 10 billion in annual revenue, according to a new report by GamesBeat and Xsolla.

The report estimates that more than 140 Israeli companies are active in gaming or in adjacent technologies used by the industry, including mobile entertainment, ad-tech, and monetization infrastructure. Around 15,000 people are employed by gaming-related companies across the country.

Israel’s strength in the sector is tied in part to its experience in user acquisition, monetization, and mobile-first product development. The report also points to the country’s ability to build technologies for global markets rather than relying primarily on domestic demand.

Israeli gaming companies have also generated USD 3.65 billion in publicly disclosed exits. Recent transactions include Playtika’s acquisition of SuperPlay, which was initially valued at USD 700 million and could ultimately reach USD 1.95 billion through earnouts.

The report expects continued growth as AI becomes more widely used in areas such as user acquisition targeting, creative testing, and real-time monetization optimization.
