Rafael eyes India production line for Iron Dome interceptors

Categories: Hi-Tech

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is reportedly in talks with Indian defense companies to establish a production line in India for Tamir interceptor missiles used in Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system.

The proposed production line would expand Rafael’s global manufacturing footprint for Iron Dome interceptors, which are currently produced in northern Israel, with an additional US production line launched in partnership with Raytheon. The move would also align with India’s “Make in India” defense manufacturing policy and growing efforts to strengthen domestic missile and air defense production.

The talks come amid rising international demand for air defense systems and deeper defense cooperation between Israel and India. Iron Dome, one of Israel’s best-known defense technologies, is designed to intercept short-range rockets, artillery shells, and other aerial threats.
