TASE explores EUR20m-EUR40m Cyprus Stock Exchange acquisition

Categories: Capital Markets

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange is conducting an advanced review of a possible bid for the Cyprus Stock Exchange as the Cypriot government prepares to privatize the Nicosia-based exchange.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange is estimated to be worth between EUR 20 million and EUR 40 million. TASE has not yet made a final decision on whether to participate in the tender, which is expected to attract interest from other European exchange operators.

An acquisition would give TASE a direct presence within the European Union and could create opportunities to expand trading, clearing, data, and other capital-markets services into Europe. The move would also align with TASE’s recently announced strategy of pursuing acquisitions, partnerships, and new business lines under a planned holding-company structure.

TASE generated NIS 563 million in revenue and NIS 181 million in net profit in 2025. In the first half of 2026, revenue reached an annualized rate of approximately NIS 740 million, up about 31% from the corresponding period last year.

The exchange is targeting annual revenue growth of 15% to 18% through 2031, with annual revenue potentially reaching approximately NIS 1 billion as early as 2028.
