The US-Israel Legal Review 2019 51

simultaneously expediting such transactions and

reducing timelines and expenses. It should be noted

that under the Competition Law, the regulatory

authority has the power to sanction not only

companies but their management as well, and legal

advice should be sought in any self-assessment

undertaken by companies.

CONCLUSION

We anticipate that the trends discussed in this

article, such as sky-high valuations, significant

transaction volume, massive potential for growth,

and a strong preference for M&A exits as opposed

to IPOs will all continue into 2019. The cross-border

nature of M&A in Israel, as well as the frenetic pace

of technological, industrial, economic, regulatory

andpolitical developments in today’s age, especially

in Israel, mean that investors need to be aware of

a multitude of factors in order to maximize their

chances of success, all of which emphasize the need

for cutting-edge legal advice cooperation between

international and domestic law firms, global

investment advisors, and accounting professionals,

so whilst there is no doubt that the Israeli market

offers massive potential for investors, in such a

crowded and competitive market it is essential to

have a finger on the pulse.

We look forward to a successful and prosperous

2019, with new challenges and new opportunities

for us all.
